About the organisation

Arrel d’Idees is a non-profit association created in March 2018 in Gandia (Spain) by a group of EVS volunteers and some local youth who shared their same ideals and vision. The main aim of the organization is to encourage youth active participation, in local and international contexts.

Our objectives are:

* Encourage and facilitate national and international mobility of youth and youth/social workers (especially for groups with fewer opportunities).

* Boost intercultural education and activities to promote dialogue between cultures and citizens of different regions.

* Empower youth in order to promote critical thinking for active citizenship and participatory democracy in order to contribute to the development of local communities.

* Foster partnerships, cooperation and networking among civil society groups, European and international organizations.

* Enhance values of human dignity, interculturality, solidarity, gender equality, empathy, cooperation, social justice and social integration.

Activities and experience

Arrel d´ Idees develops and implements educational programs, workshops and different projects for youth and youth/social workers in order to improve their daily work and to enhance their European values. We work on different topics: self development and wellbeing/ environment and sustainability / social inclusion with special focus on gender equality.

Our methodologies are based on non formal learning activities to enable young people and youth workers to acquire essential competences and skills that contribute to their personal and socio-educational development.

We strongly believe and stand for a sense of community and citizen participation in order to bring solutions and initiatives to the needs of our community, that´s why we promote different activities to address them. We are part of a regional network that works around social inclusion and youth, and we take part in many activities that each organization delivers.

Regarding Erasmus+ Program, we organize youth exchanges and training courses to raise awareness about gender equality, environmental awareness and social inclusion in general with focus in participants with fewer opportunities.
