8. Background and experience

Please briefly present your organisation.

Together Romania Association is a non-governmental and non-profit organization having the legal statute of an association with activities for youth in art, education, culture, environment, sport and social field. Some young and passionate people, experienced in national and international youth programs, founded it in September 2005, aiming to offer a proper way for Romanian youth personality development. The main goal is to integrate the youth in a diluted value society and to offer the opportunity of evolving socially, culturally, civic and intellectually, to promote tolerance, communication and cooperation between different cultures and generations.

9. Activities and experience

What are the activities and experience of your organisation in the areas it works in?

Since 2005, our association supports young people at the local, regional and international level, using non-formal education methods. In principle, we design, plan and offer educational programs for different groups of young people (students, vulnerable groups, unemployed, students, unemployed) from the local community and adjacent villages. Our work is mostly addressed to young people between the ages of 13-35. Since association creation we are focusing on local and regional community involvement in different projects and mobilities based on intercultural education, sport and healthy lifestyle promotion, development of social and soft skills, inclusion of youth with fever opportunities, inter-generational integration and sharing good practices in work with youth and for youth. The topics addressed were discussed and even materialized into local and European projects organized by young people from the two centres that association has to Valea Doftanei (rural) and Campina (urban). The Campina centre offers young people media activities within the artIMAGEcenter center, mountain guide courses offered in collaboration with MontDelMar, a specialized association from Bucharest and organizes local cultural events, promoting active citizenship, environmental protection, art, exhibitions, recreational activities , training sessions, etc. The centre in Valea Doftanei has an IT centre that offers young people with limited opportunities the opportunity to access a computer, to learn different programs and a digital literacy in the rural environment. Also at the local level, we carry out non-formal activities in the 2 high schools in Campina and in the high school in Valea Doftanei. We have a good collaboration with the local authorities in the two communities and the local NGOs. Besides projects have focused on the similar topics, our association has organized so far 36 youth exchanges, 4 trainings, 2 strategic partnership and 2 national initiatives on YiA and E+, so we know very well about project management, financial, practical, logistics, etc. The association was involved in more than 120 European youth projects. Together Romania gives to young people these services: - information and project development centre - organization of training courses, exchanges and cultural, artistic or sport activities - counselling, crisis support and prevention - e-learning, networking, partnerships, training courses and workshops - publications, newspapers and web sites. Therefore, experience of association gives us all the advantages to carry out this kind of project and fulfil goals with our partners.
