Tmelník z.s. is a youth civic initiative formed into an NGO. Our main aim is development of competences of youngsters and young people through non-formal education, intercultural learning, youth participation and inclusion. Tmelnik is a civic platform open to everyone. We work with youth mainly in the age of 15-25 from all over the Czech Republic. We support our target group to be active, gain experience, try and learn something new, regardless of their economic, social or cultural background. Our staff works on couching and mentoring enthusiastic young people who would like to initiate and develop youth exchange or other project on various topics, and we also offer them the opportunity to become part of other youth projects and activities. We have implemented several projects under YiA and E+ as well as projects financed by other nationals units.
Looking for partners
We are looking for reliable and active organisations interested in long-term cooperation in European and international projects. We are particularly interested in partnerships related to youth work, non-formal education, inclusion, youth participation, active citizenship, healthy lifestyles, employability, volunteering and intercultural learning. We are open to cooperation as both a partner and, when relevant, a coordinating organisation, within Erasmus+, CERV, ESF+ and other European funding programmes. We are especially interested in organisations working directly with young people and young people with fewer opportunities. We would like to develop practical projects with a strong local impact and an international dimension, and to build long-term partnerships based on trust, active involvement and shared interests.

About the organisation

Locally, we furthermore organize various workshops, debates, happenings and other events and meetings initiated by the young people themselves. Our NGO was officially registered in February 2011 by the core members of informal group of young people called “Tmelnik – youth initiative”.
Activities and experience
We have a stable experience as a partner in educational projects organised abroad within the Youth in Action, Europe for Citizens, Grundtvig and Visegrad grant programmes for which we are actively finding appropriate participants within our target group. We are part of the Eurodesk network, as a regional partner in Central Bohemia. The key for us is to work on both local and international projects that append to each other and we try to cover broad scale of themes and topics according to what our target group finds interesting. We focus mainly on youth participation, intercultural understanding, active citizenship, entrepreneurship, but also art and culture which we more often utilize as the working method. Within our activities, we promote and apply the principles of tolerance to diversity, open discussion, active initiatives, volunteering, non-formal education and intercultural learning.
