8. Background and experience
Please briefly present your organisation.
Tavo Europa is a Lithuania-based NGO where youth empowerment meets bold, creative action. We’re a small enough organisation to work closely with our partners, yet we have the networks and experience to deliver long-term projects in Lithuania and abroad.
Our team of 9 professional social workers, teachers, psychologists, educators, and researchers is also joined each year by over 20 motivated university interns as well as constant 4 long term volunteers. Together, we work with more than 1,000 young people aged 14-25 and together with partners we train over 300 youth workers annually. We are recognised in Lithuania and across Europe for advancing non-formal education that builds an inclusive civil society.
9. Activities and experience
What are the activities and experience of your organisation in the areas it works in?
At Tavo Europa, we see active citizenship and democracy not as abstract concepts but as everyday practices that young people should feel equipped to take part in. Our aim has always been to make democratic life tangible and accessible, especially for those who may feel excluded from political processes. Through non-formal education, mentoring, and creative tools, we give young people the space to explore their role in society and the confidence to act on it.
Our experience in this field comes from a wide range of projects that bring civic education to life:
European Counter and Alternative Narratives Network - A collaboration aimed at equipping youth workers and young leaders with tools to counter extremist and anti-democratic narratives. By fostering critical thinking and constructive dialogue, the project created networks of young people ready to challenge disinformation and protect democratic values.
