About the organisation
Tastes of Greece is a cultural organization based in the rural area of Sivota, Greece. The idea started in 2024 as
a grassroots effort to preserve and celebrate our local traditions, it was officially established as an organization
in 2025. We focus on engaging young people in activities that highlight cultural heritage, gastronomy,
storytelling, photography, video, and sports. Our goal is to bring generations together, help young people
express themselves and support life in small villages.
Storytelling is at the core of Tastes of Greece, serving as a bridge between generations and a way to keep local
traditions alive. Through oral histories, photography, writing and video, we collect and share the voices of
locals while encouraging young people to reinterpret these stories in creative ways.
In addition, the initiative contributes to the branding of the area through digital presence, highlighting the
region’s unique identity and cultural heritage. Tastes of Greece supports youth local entrepreneurship by
offering consulting services to small businesses in the community, focusing on their digital image and online
presence. Through guidance on digital marketing, branding and modern communication tools, the organization
helps local enterprises strengthen their visibility, reach new audiences and adapt to contemporary market
needs. This initiative connects tradition with innovation, ensuring that local businesses can thrive while
preserving the authentic character of the region.
We regularly organize local cultural events, workshops, and collaborative projects that invite both locals and
visitors to experience the authentic soul of Greek village life. Our goal is to use culture and creativity as tools
for youth empowerment, community building, and European cooperation.
Moreover, we would like to create a Youth Council that promotes civic engagement and gives young people an
active voice in the future of our community. This initiative will encourage participation in local
decision-making, fostering a spirit of responsibility and collaboration.
We want it to have an intercultural spirit, open not only to local youth but also to young people from different
places and cultures. This way, it will not just focus on tourism, but become a space for true exchange, dialogue,
and creativity that brings people together and builds strong connections across communities.
We are part of the greek network “In the Same Direction”, which consists of 33 youth workers from diverse
organizations. Our shared mission is to empower young people, strengthen youth participation and promote
collaboration beyond professionals.
