8. Background and experience

Please briefly present your organisation.

Kargenc Environment Sport Club (Kargenc Club) is a non-profit youth and sports association based in Sakarya, Türkiye, dedicated to promoting sports, cultural exchange, and holistic development among children and youth. Originally established in 2010 as a local Youth and Sports Association by volunteer teachers, we expanded into international projects in 2014 and changed our name to Kargenc Environment Sport Club in 2023. We work with a broad range of age groups (7 to 70) and hold Erasmus+ accreditation. Our activities engage families, young people, children, students, and individuals with disabilities, and we maintain strong partnerships with local stakeholders such as the District Governor's office, the National Education Directorate, and the District Directorate of Youth and Sport.

9. Activities and experience

Kargenc Club has extensive experience across several thematic areas: sport-based youth work (volleyball, basketball, bocce, futsal, beach sports, traditional games and dances); gender equality and rural women's empowerment through sport (e.g. Korfball for Gender Equality); social inclusion of people with disabilities (swimming, orienteering and inclusive sport programmes); environmental sustainability and climate action (Carbon Neutral Sports Clubs Network, Capacity Building on climate topics, recycling and clean-up initiatives); healthy and active lifestyles (beach volleyball/football tournaments, hiking, traditional food days); volunteering (ESC volunteer hosting, national and international sport-event volunteering); and sport injury prevention (training for PE teachers and coaches). We have coordinated 11 Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, 15 Erasmus+ Sport projects, and 1 Erasmus+ Capacity Building project, and have participated as a partner in over 150 Erasmus+ projects, with an active portfolio currently spanning Erasmus+ Sport (SCP/SSCP), KA220 Youth, and ESC Solidarity/Volunteering actions.
