Amigos de Europa

Amigos de Europa is an Association entirely dedicated to the development of youth. Its mission is to stimulate and sustain young people’s active, civic and responsible participation in the educational, social, cultural, and economic environment of the communities they live in.

Amigos de Europa concentrates its efforts on activities that aim to develop, support and reinforce the counselling, informing and forming processes of the target generation, in a European context. These objectives are met by means of creating a favorable environment in the communities of young people for the enhancement of their personal and professional performance. Furthermore, their needs are constantly being identified and fulfilled through a large array of sustainable activities.

The association relies on the principles of responsible volunteering, self-motivation and self-determination, active civic participation, taking initiatives, involvement and cooperation, adaptability, continuity, competence, competitiveness, friendship, mutual respect and support, democracy, transparency, equity, legality, durability, social dialogue, tolerance, versatility and non-discrimination.

Amigos de Europa is a youth organization that provides education, culture, art and other services for youngsters in small villages of Andalusia. Currently, the organization has cooperation agreements with more than 30 municipalities.

The organization has experience in different kinds of projects and acts as an umbrella organization that assists in finding the correct target group for each project. There is a collaboration with other local organizations and entities in a variety of fields such as sports, arts, social affairs, and youth development with the goal of continuously being a trustful and supportive partner in order to ensure the success of projects.

Each year Amigos de Europa sends more than 200 participants to projects abroad, and we always follow the same working method based on relations of co-responsibility between the Hosting and Sending Organisation and Participants: We have at least 3 personal meetings with the participants. In the first one, we introduce them to the Erasmus+ program. In the second one, we aim to clarify their role in the project and to support them with the logistical plan (travel routes, reimbursement, and documentation preparation). In the third one, we aim to evaluate their experience in the project and to prepare and organize the dissemination activities.

Amigos De Europa has facilitated many projects that focus on the values of the EU. This is the reason why the topic is a very familiar field for Amigos de Europa, a topic in which Amigos de Europa can share its expertise. Amigos de Europa has been involved in discussions concerning the European citizenship, the relationships between European citizens, and rationality using approaches that include the exploration of identity, political rights, social rights and civic engagement. Furthermore, has developed Training Courses in various small villages where is possible the inclusion of people with fewer opportunities and at the same time, also Amigos de Europa has developed the youth political scene of our city thanks to a series of agreements with the city hall.

It is important to underline that as Amigos de Europa functions as an umbrella organization Amigos de Europa is in positon to work with a variety of different topics. The networking and co-operations enable them to find the proper profile of participants for each project and during Amigos de Europa years of action they have been involved in projects about theatre, music, dance, sports, social inclusion, new technologies and much more.
