Erasmus+ Youth
- Eco-friendly YOUTH2023–2024Coordinator2022-3-RO01-KA152-YOU-000102178951 The aim of our project was to stimulate the involvement of young people in volunteer activities for environmental protection and combating climate change. The area where the project activities took place was greened and waste was sorted. The objectives of the project were: - to enrich the knowledge of young participants from 4 countries on environmental protection and combating climate change
Erasmus+ Adult education
- Empowering adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to access a job2018–2019CoordinatorThe project runs for one year, during which a number of 20 adults from disadvantaged communities in the city of Reșița will participate in training workshops where they will learn how to write a CV, how to present themselves at a job interview, how to search for a job locally, both online and offline. This initiative is based on a partnership between Romania, Italy, Hungary and Serbia

8. Background and experience
Please briefly present your organisation.
Activity Foundation for human resources and sustainable development is a nongovernmental, apolitical, not-for-profit organization, focused on education activities, for youth, through volunteering, training and promoting participation and for adults, within the concept of long-life learning.
AFs mission is to support the promotion of global open society values in Romania through:
- sustaining the development of an opened and democratic educational system, characterized by competition, transparency, co-operation, encouraging individual initiative and innovation;
- promoting initiatives which aim at the equality of chances through education, training and education focused on the needs of the individuals. The activity of the Foundation is divided into six departments: Research Department, Training and Consultancy Environment, Public Relations, European Integration, Youth, Equal opportunities through education.
Objectives of the Activity Foundation are- To develop activities which promote democracy;
- To promote tolerance, diversity and equal chances in the society;
- To create community development programs to fight against prejudices towards Roma people;
- To increase the organizational capacity of disadvantaged people;
- To help disadvantaged communities to develop their own competences and abilities to solve problems;
- To develop professional, social, cultural, economic activities and civic commitment.
9. Activities and experience
What are the activities and experience of your organisation in the areas it works in?
Activity Foundation mainly works with disadvantaged communities in Resita city and rural areas of Caras-Severin county. Our aim is to promote tolerance and understanding in between individuals by highlighting the cultural, traditional particularities of each. In the last 4 years AF worked closely with young students from Resita high schools and with rural communities in Caras-Severin.
AF was involved until now, as solicitant, or partner, in almost 10 initiatives on adult education and inclusion of adults in community and on labor market. Also, we had cultural activities for adults regarding the entrepreneurship using the renewal of local traditions. The general profile of the beneficiaries of our projects until now were adults aged 40-60 (we have an ongoing adult education Erasmus+ project and more than 5 completed on different funding sources) and also young people aged 16-25 (we have ongoing 1 Erasmus+ youth mobilities and 4 finished), people that come from disadvantaged neighborhoods of Resita (Dealu Mare, Calnic, Mociur) as well as disadvantaged communities around the county (Oravita city, Anina city) and rural areas.
Youth work:
Activity Foundation works with young people, volunteers in Resita city and surroundings and has a wide experience in transnational projects, is highly experience in involving young people in intercultural and local volunteering activities. AF works daily for the active involvement of youth in particular, and whole community in general in society, through volunteering. By the experience of the foundation in hosting and coordinating constant inclusive activities in Resita city it has a close knowledge of the real needs of the youth in local community. The topic addressed by AFs youth activities are: valorization of traditions and culture; ecology and environmental protection; tolerance and inclusion; digital literacy and safety.
Adult work:
In the last 7 years, Activity Foundation implemented and participated as partner in several adult education projects. The president of the Foundation, Nadia Potoceanu, has a wide experience in implementing activities with adults in rural areas of Caras-Severin county and especially transnational projects at the Danube border. Most of AFs adult initiatives aimed to promoting sustainable economy for disadvantaged, digital alphabetization of the disadvantaged adults in the county; development of rural entrepreneurship skills for economical wellbeing of disadvantaged adults etc.
